William Metcalfe, PhD, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
William (“Bill”) Metcalfe obtained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa. He later received his PhD from North Dakota State University. He is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and a Board-Certified Diplomate in Social Work. Dr. Metcalfe is an approved supervisor through the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and is also a Clinical Fellow of the same organization. Additionally, he is a Certified Trauma Professional, certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR.
Dr. Metcalfe provides individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as gerontological therapy for individuals, couples, and families. He offers family of origin therapy and family business-related therapy.
He holds a Distinguished Scholar Designation in Family Therapy from Circulus at the University of Louisiana and completed the Executive Leadership Curriculum at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Dr. Metcalfe has taught Family Therapy Courses and Family Crisis through the Child Development and Family Science department at North Dakota State University, and he has served as a Family Therapy Supervisor with the Family Therapy Institute at North Dakota State University.
