Outpatient Services

Solutions has a full range of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists and licensed therapists. An array of services are available, including individual, family, group, and marital therapy, as well as consultation. A collaborative treatment plan is developed to address the areas of concern, based upon an assessment of the problem area. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based practices, which means that they provide those types of programs, interventions, and therapies which have been demonstrated to be effective. Examples of evidence-based therapies provided at Solutions include cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT). Incredible Years programming is provided for children and families. Individual treatment plans incorporate meaningful and practical goals.

Licensed psychologists provide testing and evaluation services. Psychological testing may be conducted in order to help clarify a diagnosis and to inform treatment planning. Typical psychological evaluations include ADHD testing, autism evaluations, intellectual assessment, personality testing, behavioral assessment, parenting evaluations and various court-related evaluations.

Solutions is a credentialed provider for many third-party insurances.

Community-Based Services

Solutions provides an array of community-based services for individuals and families. These are designed to assist individuals in being successful in the community and reduce risk of hospitalization. They are often coordinated with therapy or other outpatient services. Medicaid or private insurers may pay for these community services for eligible recipients. Solutions provides several types of community-based services:

  1. Rehabilitative Mental Health Services

Solutions is certified to provide rehabilitative mental health services in both Minnesota and North Dakota. These services are designed to restore functioning, and are available to both children and adults.

In Minnesota, these rehabilitative services are under the CTSS (Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports) program, which is available to medicaid recipients. This program is designed to address developmental lags resulting from a mental health condition. CTSS involves an array of services which include individual, family, and group therapy, individual and group skills training, and the practice of these skills. Through the initial diagnostic assessment process, the licensed Mental Health Professional identifies need areas and develops a treatment plan which incorporates the necessary components to address the child's needs. The family is an integral part of this plan. CTSS may be provided in the child's home or other relevant community setting.

For medicaid recipients in Minnesota, there is a similar array of services for adults with mental health disorders. The ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) program is designed for individuals requiring skills training and crisis assistance to effectively manage in the community. Workers provide programming in the client's home or other community location under the direction of a mental health professional.

In North Dakota, medicaid recipients are also available for individuals who are at risk of hospitalization or out-of-home placement. Intensive therapy is available, i.e., on a daily basis if needed, while individuals can also work with a mental health technician to practice needed skills in the day-to-day setting.

  2. Mental Health Case Management

Solutions provides mental health case management to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and adults with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) in some Minnesota counties. Case management assists the individual in accessing needed community services in order to maintain mental health functioning. This service is available to qualified medicaid recipients.

  3. Behavioral Intervention

Solutions provides comprehensive behavioral intervention services by qualified Behavior Analysts. These services are designed to reduce, modify or eliminate undesirable behaviors and improve life skills. The range of services includes behavioral assessment, development of behavioral intervention plans, consultation, and follow up. 24-hour on-call services are available in some locations.

  4. Independent Living Services

Independent Living Skills programming and Skills Integration services are available for qualified individuals in order to assist them in learning, applying, and integrating life skills. The goal is to promote effective community adjustment and independence.

Residential Services

Solutions is licensed under Minnesota Corporate Foster Care regulations to provide 24-hour residential services. These are secured through a county service agreement and are funded through a variety of waiver programs. Solutions' residential services target those individuals who have had a history of disrupted placement due to serious mental health or behavioral difficulty. The focus is on maintaining placement stability and promoting independence and community integration.
