Tharaki Siyaguna, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist (MN)
Dr. Siyaguna works as a Licensed Psychologist at Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals, where she provides services for children, adults, and families. Her offerings include conducting diagnostic assessments and psychological evaluations for intellectual impairments, neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Personality Disorders. She also provides individual and family psychotherapy. Dr. Siyaguna specializes in working with clients experiencing mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, neurodevelopmental disorders, and borderline personality disorder.
She strongly believes in using evidence-based treatments and practicing interventions with fidelity to ensure optimal outcomes. Additionally, she values celebrating each individual’s uniqueness and culture, working hard to ensure that evidence-based treatments are carefully adapted to her clients' unique characteristics. Dr. Siyaguna is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure with Response Prevention, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Dr. Siyaguna earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of York, UK, and completed her Master of Science in Psychology and PhD in Clinical Psychology at North Dakota State University (NDSU). She has worked as a practicum student at the NDSU Counseling Center, as well as a pre-doctoral intern and a post-doctoral intern at Solutions. During her graduate studies, she taught undergraduate psychology classes at NDSU and conducted research related to risk factors for mood and anxiety disorders, as well as the impact of mindfulness on mental health symptoms. Her research also focused on the benefits of mindfulness interventions for sport performance and distress tolerance among college athletes.
In her personal life, Dr. Siyaguna enjoys sports, being active, and spending time with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she likes to hike, bike, try out new restaurants, and travel to new places with her family.
