Megan Sundstrom, MA, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Megan Sundstrom is a Clinical Trainee at Solutions. She completed her undergraduate training at the College of St. Benedict and earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2021. During her graduate studies, she completed her clinical internship at the Human Development Center in Cloquet, MN, gaining supervised experience with a diverse range of clients and disorders, primarily focusing on anxiety. Megan has particular expertise in working with adolescents and young adults.
She has received training in cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Megan is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Minnesota Social Services Association.
While in college, Megan served as a coordinator in the psychology department and worked as a research and teaching assistant. She has also provided direct care at a halfway house in the Twin Cities, and has experience in customer service, as an assistant coach, and as a tutor at a local community college.
Megan emphasizes her clients' strengths and enjoys equipping them with tools and skills for success. She believes it is essential to actively listen to her clients without judgment. Valuing honesty, integrity, and communication, Megan adopts a person-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that addressing challenges requires a comprehensive perspective, including biological, social, and psychological factors.
