Megan Schmidt, MS, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (MN)

Megan Schmidt received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Minnesota State University–Moorhead in 2008 and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Community Counseling from the same university in 2011. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota.

Ms. Schmidt has been employed by Solutions’ Alexandria office since 2012, initially working as a mental health practitioner to assist children and adults in developing skills to improve their mental health functioning. She subsequently served as a supervisor for outreach staff before transitioning into her current role as a clinical outpatient provider and clinical supervisor for CTSS programming.

Ms. Schmidt enjoys working with individuals of all ages and has been trained in the DC:0-5 model, which enables her to assess individuals from birth through age five. She is also trained in several evidence-based practices, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), the Incredible Years Parenting Program, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). While she is passionate about treating individuals with trauma, she also appreciates maintaining a caseload that addresses a variety of mental health concerns across the lifespan. Ms. Schmidt values being present for her clients and creating a safe space for them to explore their mental health challenges.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports, reading, and relaxing at the lake.
