Kristin Moen, MSW, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

Kristin Moen earned her bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Concordia College, majoring in Social Work with minors in Sociology and Psychology. She went on to complete her Master of Social Work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2009, where she also completed her internship at the Nebraska Medical Center.

Ms. Moen previously worked as a therapist at Heartland Family Services in Council Bluffs, IA, where she provided mental health and substance abuse treatment for adults. Her role included conducting evaluations, crisis management, and developing treatment plans. She facilitated groups using the Matrix Model and provided Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for children and parents. Before joining Solutions in 2013, she also worked as a therapist in the partial hospitalization program at Prairie St. John’s.

Ms. Moen is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Dakota. She works with a diverse range of clients and is trained in several evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Attachment Biobehavioral Catch-Up (ABC), perinatal mental health practice, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She serves as the clinical supervisor for Solutions’ ABC services and Adult Mental Health Rehabilitative Services.

Her specialty areas include infertility issues, gender and sexual identity diversity, and trauma-informed care. She primarily works with adults, as well as families and couples. Ms. Moen finds deep meaning in supporting her clients on their journey to well-being and strives to bring both competence and integrity to her work.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and cheering on the Minnesota Twins.
