Before joining Solutions in 2008, Ms. Schoep spent 12 years working with children and families affected by domestic and sexual abuse, dementia care, elderly social work, and school-based mental health services. She has specialized training in early childhood mental health, including diagnostic assessments using the Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC:0-3R), a best-practice model for assessing young children’s mental health. She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support children and adolescents with trauma histories, as well as the Incredible Years Baby, Toddler, and Preschool Parenting Programs, which focus on fostering positive parent-teacher-child relationships and addressing behavioral challenges.

Ms. Schoep’s areas of interest include early childhood mental health, parenting, trauma, abuse and neglect, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, parent-child relationships, and communication.

She initially joined Solutions as a Mental Health Practitioner while completing her master’s degree. After becoming a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), she developed a clinical practice serving adults, children, and families. She also provides clinical supervision for Children’s Therapeutic Services, overseeing the implementation of services designed to help children with social and emotional impairments develop the skills needed to thrive among their peers.

Ms. Schoep values the professional growth opportunities and collaborative treatment approach at Solutions, which have contributed to her continued passion for the field.
